ESPN's SP
(2006-2007) ESPN wanted to expand their brand into the arena of youth sports. Working with Steve Wulf and his team from ESPN The Magazine we developed a series of prototypes that integrated relevant and inspiring content for sports parents with functional tools that would provide connective tissue between families, coaches and sports associations. Following the lead of ESPN's own architecture, we first imagined a very ambitious, broadsheet style format with hubs for each of the associated audiences (parents, kids and coaches) plus one of shared interest for gear. The second phase of prototypes edited the components down to a simplified home page that would drive membership and lead to a customized family calendar page. A third approach used a blog format. This project has not yet been realized. -
ESPN Coaches Fundraising
(2006-2007) One of ESPN's divisions runs a fundraising program to sell subscriptions to ESPN The Magazine and other titles. They needed to bring the look and functionality more in line with the current look of ESPN.com while still maintaining the function of a promotional, sales-oriented site. coaches.espn.com -
Cape Elizabeth Land Trust
(2006-present) Our local conservation society does a lot of great work preserving open, natural spaces in our town and encouraging the community to make use of these resources. We have worked with Chris Franklin at the land trust and board member Tom Gale of Vont Web to redesign and improve the site, including an interactive trail map module that is currently in development. capelandtrust.org -
Arthur Frommer’s Smart Shopping
(2005-2006) This companion website to Arthur Frommer's Smart Shopping magazine had the simple goal of making all of the online resources (and text of back issues) in the print magazine easily accessible. Had the magazine lasted longer it would have been augmented by blogs, community building and direct commerce links, but that all stayed on the drawing board. smartshoppingmag.com
